LIMP BIZKIT's Collaboration With LIL WAYNE Available For Streaming
LIMP BIZKIT fan site TheArmpit has is streaming LIMP BIZKIT and Lil Wayne's new collaborative single, "Ready To Go". The track is being released via LIMP BIZKIT's new label home, Cash Money, Lil Wayne's longtime record company. "It'll be a great way to let the world know that [the band] is a part of us," Cash Money Records co-CEO and founderBryan "Birdman" Williams told Billboard.com a year ago. "It's rock, but it's hip-hop-rock. I think we got that hip-hop-rock swagger."
When LIMP BIZKIT's deal with Cash Money was announced last March, many wondered why the popular rap label would work with a band whose latest album, "Gold Cobra", has sold less than 100,000 copies in the United States since its June 2011 release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. "LIMP BIZKIT, to me, is just a perfect match for us," said Birdman. "It was something that [Durst] was interested in doing, and I was already a fan, and I was like, 'Let's do it.' It's good for the brand, it will bring a different look for us, and we're definitely trying to expand on that side of music."
LIMP BIZKIT in 2011 parted ways with Interscope, the label that released all of the band's records thus far through its subsidiaries Flip,Geffen and Suretone Records.
"As both an artist and someone who has signed artists, I can say without a doubt that Cash Money is at the top of their game," Durst said in a statement. "What attracted me to the label is not only their great taste and hustle, but their belief in their artists and the family atmosphere. Slimand Birdman allow their artists to be themselves and encourage creative output and continued development. I look forward to bringing my vision as a director as well as my voice to the label and to LIMP BIZKIT putting out some of our best music to date. . . This is the most at home, comfortable, and confident I have felt in the business."
"Gold Cobra" was LIMP BIZKIT's first CD to feature the original lineup of Fred Durst (vocals), Wes Borland (guitar), Sam Rivers (bass), John Otto (drums), and DJ Lethal since 2000's "Chocolate Starfish And Hot Dog Flavored Water".

It has a very strong fusion of that electronic element in there. Still very heavy, still very rhythmic. Very anthemic, very intensely melodic. It's a song that lyrically is talking about everyone out there who likes to make me out to be such a bad guy, this monster of epic proportions, which I'm really not."

ALICE IN CHAINS: New Single 'Stone' Goes To Radio
A 90-second sample of ALICE IN CHAINS' new single, entitled "Stone", can be streamed below. The track, which was released to radio earlier today, come off the band's new album, "The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here", which is due out on May 28 via Virgin/EMI.
ALICE IN CHAINS guitarist Jerry Cantrell recently told Rolling Stonethat "The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here" is "a unique record that's completely different from anything we ever did," adding, "The band is moving ahead in new territory that we haven't been to before, but we haven't lost our identity." The Pulse Of Radio asked Cantrell to talk more about the band's evolution on its fifth studio effort. "The cool thing about record is it's a snapshot of time, of that group of individuals," he said. "And when you line up all of those records back to back, you can see where the band changes, evolves, you can maybe feel what they're going through, you know, and I think you could probably say that with all of our records. You can get a pretty good snapshot of what's going on there and, you know, we're in a different place now."
Cantrell told Revolver magazine that the title track's lyrics take on the beliefs of certain organized religions, saying, "What I've seen is the most basic message to most faith systems is in contradiction with how it gets applied . . . It always amazes me that some of the most hateful and hurtful things are done in the name of some sort of belief system."
"The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here" is ALICE IN CHAINS' second with William DuVall on vocals. It follows up 2009's "Black Gives Way To Blue", the group's first all-new collection of material in 14 years and first since the 2002 death of original singer Layne Staley.
ALICE IN CHAINS will hit the road on a spring trek that starts on April 25 in Miami Beach and includes headlining slots at the Rocklahoma, Carolina Rebellion, Welcome To Rockville and Rock On The Range festivals.
A person going by the online handle "TheSorceressKnight" atBLABBERMOUTH.NET has unveiled two additional images hidden in the cover artwork for the album.
When loaded into Photoshop, the main picture of a dinosaur skull reveals first a mirror image of that photo, and then underneath both what looks like a skull belonging to a demon or devil.

SEVENDUST: 'Decay' Video Released
"Decay", the new video from SEVENDUST, can be seen below. The track comes off the band's ninth studio album, "Black Out The Sun", which is being released on March 26 via SEVENDUST's 7Bros. Records label (through Warner Music Group's Independent Label Group). The CD was recorded at Architekt Music studios in Butler, New Jersey with engineerMike Ferretti.
SEVENDUST drummer Morgan Rose told Billboard.com that "Decay"actually came from a riff left over from the "Cold Ray Memory" sessions.
"We were starting to get burnt and we didn't want to push it," Roserecalls. "So we had this riff, and we said, 'Let's jam it and see if anything comes of it.' And before you know it, it became a song that ends up on the record, and everybody listens to it and they end up picking that as the single, which was pretty cool."
"Black Out The Sun" track listing:
03. 'Till Death
05. Cold As War
06. Black Out The Sun
07. Nobody Wants It
08. Dead Roses
10. Dark AM
11. Picture Perfect
12. Got A Feeling
13. Murder Bar
The song "Murder Bar" was reportedly inspired by a Butler, New Jersey bar across from the hotel where SEVENDUST was staying while recording the new CD. Rumor had it the place was popular with many of New Jersey's murderers.
"It's a basic SEVENDUST record," guitarist Clint Lowery recently told"Source Of The Sound With Wendy Campbell". "There's nothing, like, too completely different than anything we've done before. It's got a darker vibe to it. We've got a good amount of the programming element in there. It's a lot of what we do — it's heavy and it's got its melodic element in it. So if you're a SEVENDUST fan, it's more along the lines of the second and third records we did — it's kind of like that. It's got a couple of throwback vibes to it. 'Animosity' and 'Home' , if I can put those two records together, it would [sound similar to the new CD]."
Incubus’ Mike Einziger Says He’s Not Working with Pearl Jam on Upcoming Album
Last Tuesday, a photo showing Incubus guitarist Mike Einziger posted a photo on his Twitter account of him standing next to Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder, along with the message, “In the studio with my girl and Eddie Vedder, recording strings for Pearl Jam's new album." The pic prompted a number of media outlets to report that Einziger would be contributing to PJ’s upcoming album.
On Friday, Einziger once again took to Twitter to clarify his post -- which has since been removed -- and let everyone know he isn't working with Pearl Jam on their album. He tweeted, “So media outlets, please stop announcing that I am playing on @pearljam new album. NOT TRUE.”
Noisecreep reports that it's Einziger’s girlfriend, violinist Ann Marie Simpson, who will be featured on Pearl Jam’s upcoming album and that the guitarist just stopped by the studio to watch her record with the band.
Dave Grohl Says Contestants Judged Too Harshly on Reality Singing Competition Shows
Dave Grohl apparently isn't a fan of TV singing competitions. The Foo Fighters frontman says the judges on shows like American Idol and The Voice don't let the contestants be themselves.
"I think people should feel encouraged to be themselves,” he tells NME. “That's what bums me out about those shows where people are judged so harshly by f**king musicians that hardly even play an instrument on their own f**king albums. It makes me really mad."
The Foo Fighters frontman adds that aspiring musicians shouldn’t let criticism deter them from their musical goals. "The next time someone says you're not a good singer say: 'F**k You’,” he notes. “I interviewed Neil Young and he said in his band someone said to him, 'The band's really great, but honestly you shouldn't be the singer.' If Neil Young had listened to that person then we wouldn't have had any Neil Young."
