"When we started pre-production on this album, we pushed ourselves harder and further than we ever have previously in order to make the most out of every individual arrangement. We wanted this album to be our most unpredictable and exciting one yet. From the early feedback we have received, it looks like we have achieved what we set out to do," exclaimsTremonti.
From the opening acoustic guitar work on "Cry Of Achilles" through the other 12 songs on "Fortress", it is clear ALTER BRIDGE are back to reclaim their place as one of hard rock's marquee bands. The band showcases some of their heaviest material ever in tracks like "Bleed It Dry" and "Farther Than The Sun", but also shows their signature softer side with songs like "All Ends Well" and the epic title track "Fortress"."Fortress" is 13 tracks of unapologetic, searing hard rock that ALTER BRIDGE has come to be synonymous with around the globe.
ALTER BRIDGE recently announced their only US show in 2013 in Orlando, Florida on October 4 at the House of Blues. Tickets for this show will go on sale on Friday, July 26 and can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com. The band then heads over to Europe where they will begin an extensive headlining world tour that will run from October 16 through November 16 and will feature SHINEDOWN and HALESTORM joining the band on select dates. ALTER BRIDGE will also make a triumphant return to Wembley Arena in London on October 18, a venue they sold out on "ABIII" and documented with the CD/DVD, "Alter Bridge Live At Wembley".
BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE To 'Go A Lot Heavier' On Next Album
Germany's EMP Rock Invasion recently conducted an interview with Welsh metallers Welsh metallers BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE. You can now watch the chat below.
Asked about the slightly less aggressive musical direction of BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE's fourth album, "Temper Temper", compared to some of the group's earlier efforts, guitarist/vocalist Matt Tuck said: "[Our goal with the CD] was just to kind of work on a different way of writing songs, really, which is backing off tempos and making them a bit less complicated and just writing a simple rock song, really. So that was kind of the theory behind it. Basically, we're gonna go a lot heavier next time. We just think we've kind of done what we wanted to do with [producer] Don [Gilmore]. We just don't wanna do the same thing again. So now we kind of went from heavy to kind ofthrashy to kind of hard rock records. And now we wanna kind of bring a bit more of a thrash metal element back into the sound, really. We wanna kind of go 'Master Of Puppets'-y. Instead of cutting the songs down and making them simple, we wanna make them really complicated next time."
"Temper Temper" sold 44,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 13 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD arrived in stores on February 12 via RCA.
The Welsh quartet changed the way they approached making an album this time around, with guitarist/vocalist Matt Tuck and drummer Michael "Moose" Thomas traveling to Thailand to do the initial writing and recording for the album. Tuck told The Pulse Of Radio why they made the trip. "It was just nice being in a studio 24/7, really, you know, with no distractions from home and stuff," he said. "So that was kind of the main reason why we went there and it just worked out well, you know, because we didn't have any pressures from having to travel, having to cook your own food — just all the stuff that is an everyday process obviously takes a lot of time out of the day to be creative. So just being there, being able to write 24/7, was a huge advantage."
BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE headlined the fifth edition of the"HardDrive Live" tour, which kicked off on April 12 in Denver. Joining them were main support HALESTORM, plus special guests YOUNG GUNSand openers STARS IN STEREO. The trek was sponsored by "HardDrive".

Charges Filed in Break-In at Kid Rock's Home
A 43-year-old man from Independence Township, Michigan, was slapped with three felonies after a caught-on-camera break-in attempt at the home of Kid Rock last Wednesday. The Detroit Free Press reports Brian D. Keith was charged with attempted home invasion, malicious destruction of a building, and malicious destruction of personal properties for the incident.
Tips led investigators right to Keith on Saturday. Surveillance video showed him using his 1994 minivan to ram through the front gate of the star's home before dismounting on crutches to try his luck on the doors.
The would-be thief didn't get into the home. Rock wasn't home at the time of the incident.
The newspaper reports Keith has a criminal record that includes a drunk-driving arrest in Michigan, and convictions in Virginia and North Carolina for assault, forging checks, and impersonating a police officer.
Keith is being held on $75,000 bond.
